PINION

Pinions are used in conjunction with ring gears to redirect power by 90° in the powertrain, for example in rear-wheel or all-wheel drives. Depending on the geometry, production is carried out by means of warm or cold forging. The upright forging direction enables flash-free production with the tightest run-out tolerances, minimum machining allowance and load-optimized fiber flow. On request, centers can be forged into the shaft ends, thereby eliminating the facing and centering processes.
