HOUSING FOR HIGH-PRESSURE GASOLINE PUMP

The high-pressure pump generates the operating pressure required for gasoline direct injection. It is flanged directly onto the cylinder head of the combustion engine and driven by the camshaft. Hirschvogel produces housings for such plug-in pumps as monoblock forged components. Compared to multi-part solutions, this eliminates costly welding processes as well as the handling of several individual components. Due to the near-net-shape geometry of the forging, significant weight savings can be achieved.
