CAMSHAFT FOR HIGH-PRESSURE DIESEL PUMP

Modern high-pressure diesel pumps are usually driven by a central camshaft mounted in the pump housing. Regardless of whether the application involves camshafts for single-piston pumps or multi-piston pumps for passenger cars or trucks, Hirschvogel’s production capabilities cover a wide range of different geometries and dimensions. The process used is vertical warm forging, as this avoids an exit of the fibers on the highly loaded cam surface. The forging process is highly efficient and enables cost-effective large series production.
