WHEEL CARRIER REAR AXLE

In multi-link rear axles, wheel carriers made of aluminum are often used for reasons of lightweight design. Particularly in electric vehicles with typically high axle loads, high component strength is required. Forgings are ideally suited for this purpose. The wrought alloys used by Hirschvogel demonstrate significantly higher strength than conventional cast aluminum alloys. In addition, forgings are free of pores and shrink holes, and therefore have excellent fatigue strength.
