Reverse gear shaft with long undercut

Due to their design, many transmissions require reverse gear shafts which have a very long undercut. These parts can be produced by means of drop forging (material loss through flash), or assembled from two pieces (increased efforts and costs due to handling several parts and joining operation). Alternatively, it is now also possible to produce them with a long undercut in a material- and cost-efficient way by means of vertical forging in a single machine pass.
