Splined shaft: variable valve train (VVT)

The splined shaft is the carrier shaft for a variable valve train system with sliding cams. To ensure system functionality, it is essential that the splined shaft remains straight and does not distort during machining and subsequent heat treatment. For this reason, the shaft is produced by means of vertical cold forging, resulting in excellent runout and low residual stresses.
