Balancer shaft with hollow journals

Balancer shafts increase the running smoothness of engines by countering imbalances of the crank drive with targeted, compensatory imbalances. Hirschvogel balancer shafts have always been designed in a weight-optimized way, taking into account forgeability in large series production. Hollow journals continue this development. By means of forging alone, the journals are designed with a hollow center, so that an additional weight reduction can be achieved at the same imbalance.
