The sheet stack which is assembled onto the rotor shaft generates the high torque of modern electric motors for passenger car applications. For this part, a positive fit was selected for ensuring reliable torque transmission from the sheet stack to the rotor shaft. This is achieved on the part of the rotor shaft by cold forging highly precise longitudinal tracks, which are available for assembly without additional machining. Furthermore, the part has ready-for-assembly splines in the blind hole. The bearing surfaces and splines are induction hardened.
