Hub with forged axial splines

Hirth teeth are attractive machine elements. They transmit a high torque without requiring heat treatment, they have low mass and a short assembly path. In addition, they are self-centering and, due to pretensioning, are protected against backlash even in the case of settling effects following overload. Thanks to forging, these geometrical elements can now be supplied cost-effectively and ready-for-assembly.
